Artist's Biography - TC Stuart
TC Stuart
T.C. Stuart's acrylic and mixed media works delight the viewer with integrations of color, form, and texture. A strong sense of geometric relationships and balance exude from these surfaces; a melding of logical and creative processes.
"My works are perfect symbols for the new millennium: ordered, progressive, and functional on the surface, yet fueled by a necessity to understand the subtleties which bond the universe." Stuart's admiration for the predecessor of abstract geometric painting, Mondrian, is well apparent. Mondrian paved the way for artists to explore pure elements of form. However, Stuart takes this one step further in some of her paintings with hints of mathematical and scientific relationships forming a basis on which the forms stand. "I find it amazing and incredible that scientific research can explain so many things in this world, and yet it cannot explain why I am attracted to a certain work of art, I mean genuinely emotionally touched. This is why I create the art that I do, because I can extract basic forms from the world, simplify them, and yet the very nature of the forms along with colors I choose, still affects people." T.C. Stuart's paintings have mass appeal and can now be seen in many areas of the country from private homes to corporations.
