Lithographic poster 1963, in colours, by Charles Sorlier, signed by Marc Chagall in the stone. Below left is written "D'apres Marc Chagall - Revolution 1933 - 1950" Charles Sorlier Grav. This was executed for the annual exhibition "Les peintres temoins de leur temps" at the Galliera Museum in Paris.
This piece was printed by Charles Sorlier who was responsible for creating all Chagall's prints at Mourlot Freres, Paris. This particular piece is a spoof on the russian revolution and the central figure is obviously Lenin doing a hand stand on a table and in process dropping his red flag. It is an amusing and witty example of this artist's work.
