Liz Jardine
Liz Jardine, Poppy Symphony I
Artist's Biography - Liz Jardine
Liz Jardine
Raised in New York, Liz Jardine exhibited artistic talent at an early age. She pursued her Bachelor of Science degree in Design at the State University of New York, Buffalo, with a concentration in textile design and clay forms. There she developed an interest in incorporating fibers into porcelain wall pieces. The resulting series was displayed in the solo exhibition granted her before graduation by the University.

Upon graduation, Ms. Jardine began apprentice ship at various textile and design studios in the New York city area. Her raw silk garments were sold through the Horton Studio at such stores as Henri Bendel.

Feeling the need to return to two-dimensional forms, Ms. Jardine began apprenticeship with a graphic production/design studio and developed skills in various advertising art and production techniques. After two years she began working freelance and built a reputation as a skilled product/concept illustrator.

In 1984, desiring to return to working with color, Ms. Jardine began a series of watercolors, and several were published as a line of art cards. Her love of watercolor led to her affiliation in 1986 with Accent Fine Art, where she currently serves as Art Director. Here she is developing her talents as a designer in such varied genre as floral watercolors, landscapes, still life and abstracts as well as intricate etchings dealing in a variety of subjects. Ms. Jardine's extensive travels serve as an inexhaustible store of imagery from which to draw. Most recently, the layering of rice papers and collage has been of particular interest to her.
