| Leanne Hanson was born and raised in an artistic environment. Her father, Arthur Smith, is a retired art professor and was head of the Art Department at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Surrounded by the arts, Leanne enjoyed drawing and painting as a young girl. Leanne, states jokingly; learned art through osmosis. She was introduced to transparent watercolor technique in high school and has been hooked ever since. Leanne received her bachelor degree in landscape design at the University of Minnesota. She is an established artist now. Leanne believes her design education influenced her realistic style and subject choices. Leanne's strong use of light and detailed texture is another intrinsic part of her realistic style. She enjoys painting diverse landscapes, cityscapes, and floral paintings. She has exhibited in numerous juried shows. Her paintings have been purchased and commissioned for private and corporate collections throughout the United States. |
