How to Sell Your Artwork Using Classified Ads
Doubletake Gallery clasified ads are for people who want our help in selling their artwork, but who want to keep the artwork until we find a buyer. Only when we have someone seriouly interested in buying your piece of artwork do you send it to us. With ten's of thousands of serious art collectors per month visiting our website, and because our unique service protects your privacy, a Doubletake Gallery classified ad should be your first choice when reselling your artwork.
Most Internet classified services require the seller to ship their artwork directly to the buyer. As a protection for both parties, we act as the transfer agent for transactions registered with us. The fee for that service is reflected in the 15% Brokerage Service Fee listed below and is deducted from the check sent to you upon completion of the sale. The services included in that Brokerage Service Fee include credit card processing fee's, inspecting the condition of your art prior to shipping it to the buyer, verifying authenticity, re-crating (if necessary), and follow-up with the buyer to make sure they're satisfied with their new purchase. Your only responsibility will be to get the art to us. We'll take over from there.

If you're selling original works of art, or a rare limited edition piece, you'll need to send a photo so that we can scan the image. The photo that you send must be a 35mm or a digital image. Polaroid photos are not acceptable. If the photo you send is not up to standards, we'll contact you about getting a new one.
The ad itself has three main parts; the Header, the Body of the ad, and the Price. Here's a sample to show how your ad will look: Sample Ad
The Header is a short (10 words or less) statement of what you're trying to say in the Body of the ad text. Examples are, MOVING SALE, DOWNSIZING MY COLLECTION, HELP ME EMPTY MY CLOSETS!, or whatever else you can think of. The Header will print in bold and be centered above the Body of your ad.
The Body of the ad can be as wordy as you want. Of course we reserve the right to edit ad copy if we feel it's going to be ineffective because it's too long, poorly written, or if it uses language that we judge to be offensive. Focus the comments in your ad to the artwork that you're advertising. Because of the way the Classifieds are organized, each ad is indexed to a single work of art. Because of the dynamic nature of Doubletake's website, the retail price will update automatically if the publisher or artist announces a change. Your wording of the ad, or your asking price, can be changed any time for no extra charge. Just give us a call if you want to say something new.
